Serbian peasant Plogoevits Peter died in 1725 and was buried in his native village Kizilova. Slightly less than two months later, nine other peasants - young and old - died within a week. On the death horde all stated that Plogoevits was to him in his sleep, lay down on them and suck their blood. That is it, instead of lying peacefully in his grave, turned into a vampire.
His widow, only added fuel to the fire, telling neighbors in a confidential conversation, that her late husband was to her for boots. And later she did run away from Kizilova live in another village.

Driven by fear, peasants quickly carved a wooden stake and drove Plogoevitsu right in the heart, while from his chest, ears and mouth, poured fresh blood.
